Third Eye

by Oormila Vijayakrishnan Prahlad

you straddle the horizon
wave after wave
crashes cerulean

seahorses rise in foam
birthed
from the husked womb
of a copper sun

Venus is a disintegrating boulder
you linger
on a fluorescent cloud
musky fragrance
menacing the air

strange alchemy
your third eye throbs
yawning wide
waters part
bleeding gold
bleached indigo

you become the demigod
torching the sea
feather and bone
frayed nasturtiums
flapping wildly in the gale
