The Beyond

by Nadia Gerassimenko

This World was never built for us.
Our vessels never meant to carry

us home into the ether beyond
acacias beyond the cumulus beyond

the Valley Beyond anything beyond
beyond, where there are astral

bodies laid out beautifully freely
floating & colliding with each

other bursting into pyrotechnics
painting chromas of yellows, cyans

& magentas. Where pitch-dark
silence is the loudest voice &

stillness is the universal tongue,
where we are free & endless.

Somehow we will break through
the Door, escape the matrix.

Someday we will leave to live,
to love, be free, your heart

with me & mine in its place
at last complete together.
